Summer School?
The Summer School and Young Researchers Forum on Moving objects and knowledge discovery is co-organized by the COST Action IC0903 MOVE "Knowledge Discovery from Moving Objects" and the FP7/ICT project MODAP "Mobility, Data Mining, and Privacy".
The goals of the summer school include (a) promoting recent research results obtained in the field of Moving objects and knowledge discovery and (b) developing contacts and collaboration among young researchers working on the field.
The school targets doctoral students and young postdocs as well as a small number of senior researchers working on moving objects, visualisation, GIS, spatiotemporal reasoning etc. During their stay, a limited number of selected doctoral students and postdocs will receive intensive training in the above topics taught by well-known and expert tutors; the participants will also be given an opportunity to present their own work and receive a feedback.
The Summer School Scene: Ghent!
Ghent might just be the best European city you’ve never thought of visiting
Ghent is a historic city, yet at the same time a contemporary one. The modern daily life of the city’s active inhabitants plays itself out against a gorgeous historical backdrop. In Ghent, they live, work and enjoy life over and over again each day.
A couple enjoys the peace of an authentic beguinage. Parents and children stroll through the traffic-free streets of the city centre. A tourist snaps a photo of the three towers, as so many have before, but just a little differently. A businessman with an iPhone walks along the distinctive Graslei, crosses the Lys and enters his stylish four-star hotel hiding behind a medieval facade. Dozens of pavement cafes invite you to discover Ghent’s specialities. The sun is reflected in the many waterways. The city is alive and bids you welcome.
